Khulna, Bangladesh – November 28, 2025: Beneficiary farmers and community members of the Green Dairy Project brought pride to the project by winning multiple awards at the National Livestock Week and Livestock Exhibition 2025 held in Dumuria, Khulna, and Keshabpur, Jessore, on November 26. The respected UNO of Keshabpur, Jashore, Rexona Khatun, and Upazila Livestock Officer of Dumuria, Ashraful Kabir, gave these awards.
This achievement reaffirms the Green Dairy Project’s dedication to developing a sustainable dairy industry. It supports the five pillars of ARLA Big 5 feed balance, feed efficiency, animal robustness, manure management, and land use. Three members of the Green Dairy Project were recognized for their exceptional contributions in their respective fields, showcasing the farming community’s dedication and passion for environmentally friendly practices.
Project beneficiary farmer Hasan Mahmud’s son, Aryan, a fourth grader, received a special award for his exceptional interest and enthusiasm in agriculture. His achievement will inspire future generations of leaders and community-based farming. Meanwhile, Shivani Mondal and Deepak Kumar Chakraborty were recognized for adopting best practices and technology within the dairy sector. Their efforts to ensure the complete nutrition of milk and build consumer confidence have helped increase milk production and promote environmentally friendly practices in the dairy industry.
This achievement by the Green Dairy Project has further strengthened its position in empowering the milk-farming community, promoting eco-friendly practices, and establishing sustainable linkages with the formal milk market for dairy products. Through innovation, community involvement, and sustainable growth, the Green Dairy Project is setting a new standard in Bangladesh’s dairy sector. Dr. Majadur Rahman, program manager of green dairy business (DGBP), commented on the achievement, “These accolades are not just awards they are clear milestones in our sustainable progress. The Green Dairy Project is committed to bringing about lasting and positive change in the dairy sector in Bangladesh through innovation, best practices, and grassroots community empowerment.”
About the Green Dairy Partnership: In 2024, the Green Dairy Partnership was launched as a collaborative initiative involving Arla Foods, Solidaridad Network Asia, PRAN Dairy, SEGES Innovation Denmark, the Integrated Dairy Research Network (IDRN), and the Danish Agriculture and Food Council. The initiative aims to empower 10,000 dairy farmers, including 80 percent women, promote sustainable farming practices and climate resilience. The program also seeks to promote gender-inclusive growth within Bangladesh’s dairy sector by 2029.
