| The Layer Quality Conference 2025, one of Asia’s most anticipated poultry industry events, began today (10 November) in Bangkok, Thailand, organized by Asian Agribiz Conferences. The two-day program brings together leading scientists, nutritionists, veterinarians, and entrepreneurs from across the globe. Notably, several professionals and representatives from Bangladesh’s poultry and feed industry are attending this year’s conference, marking a significant step for the country’s growing layer sector.
The event was inaugurated with welcome remarks by Conny Pereira (Asian Agribiz Conferences) and David Faulkner, followed by an insightful keynote presentation from Dr. Carmelo Ferlito, who shared emerging trends in layer production and egg marketing across Asia.
The first day’s sessions centered around intestinal health, eggshell quality, and nutritional management strategies. In the session on intestinal health, Dr. Doug Korver, Dr. Sudipto Haldar, and Michele Muccio discussed factors influencing gut function, starch utilization, and modern approaches to mycotoxin management through biomonitoring. In the second session, focused on improving eggshell quality and color, speakers Judy O’Keeffe, Chris Cobacha, and Katia Pedrosa presented practical insights on managing stress, optimizing nutrition, and using bioavailable vitamin D metabolites to enhance shell strength and color stability up to 100 weeks of age. Technical briefings from Innovad and JEFO highlighted cutting-edge tools and strategies, including Biomonitoring+ data analysis and long-term productivity management for layers.
Tomorrow, November 11, will feature discussions on avian influenza, coccidiosis, and Mycoplasma control, along with sessions on feeding trends during the transition to early-lay and innovations in layer nutrition management.
