| A new executive committee has been formed at the Bangladesh Poultry Industries Association (BPIA) following its biennial election for the 2025–2027 tenure, with industry leaders receiving strong support from voters across the country.
In the election, Md. Mosharraf Hossain Chowdhury, Chairman of Astha Feed Industries Limited, was elected President, while M. Shafir Rahman, Director of Quality Feed Limited, was elected General Secretary. Both leaders received 535 votes each, reflecting strong confidence from the association’s members. The election was held on Monday (December 22, 2025) at the AGB Colony Community Centre in Motijheel, Dhaka. Voting took place uninterrupted from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, with enthusiastic participation from poultry farmers, dealers, and business representatives from different regions of the country. In the vice-presidential race, Kbd. Asaduzzaman Mezba, Chief Executive Officer of Diamond Egg Limited (536 votes) and Syedul Haque Khan of Khan Agro Feed Product (507 votes), were elected as Vice Presidents. The post of Treasurer went to Mostafa Jahan Palash of Energy Technology, who secured 517 votes. Two industry professionals— Kbd. Anjan Majumder (508 votes) from Bangladesh Family Poultry Development Service and Mohammad Alamgir Hossain (526 votes) of Agrani Feeds—have been elected as Joint General Secretaries. Meanwhile, Shafiqul Islam (529 votes), Proprietor of Agrimart will serve as Publicity Secretary, and Gazi Nur Ahammad (525 votes), Proprietor of Jannat Poultry Feed and Medicine Corner has taken charge as Social Welfare Secretary. The election process was conducted under the supervision of a board led by Prabhangsha Som Mohan, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce, with support from senior officials of the same ministry. Election duties at the polling centre were carried out by the presiding and assistant presiding officers appointed for the day. With the formation of the new executive committee, stakeholders in the poultry sector are expressing optimism that BPIA will play a more proactive and effective role in addressing industry challenges.
