Saifi Nasir Becomes Lifetime Member of Nepal Fisheries Society

Renowned Bangladeshi aquaculture nutritionist Saifi Nasir has been awarded Lifetime Membership of the Nepal Fisheries Society in recognition of his outstanding contribution to fisheries nutrition, research, and aquaculture development in Nepal and the South Asian region.

The Nepal Fisheries Society works to advance fisheries research, nutrition, and culture development in Nepal and across the subcontinent. The organization grants membership to distinguished individuals who have demonstrated significant professional excellence and dedication to fisheries advancement.

For the past seven years, Nutritionist Saifi Nasir has been actively engaged with Nepal’s fisheries sector through collaboration, technical guidance, and field-based nutritional innovations. His research and technical expertise have played a vital role in improving fish feed quality and aquaculture practices in Nepal, which led to his recognition as a Lifetime Member on October 31, 2025.

Born into a respected Muslim family in Tangail, Bangladesh, Saifi Nasir completed his SSC from Bindubasini Government Boys’ High School in 2000 and HSC from Government Maulana Mohammad Ali College in 2002, both with first division results. Later, he enrolled at the University of Chittagong and obtained his B.Sc. (Honors) in Marine Science (2009) and M.Sc. in Marine Science and Fisheries (2011), securing 7th and 2nd positions respectively in his class.

He began his professional journey in 2011 with SMS Feeds Ltd., and in 2012 joined Paragon Group, where he worked successfully in both factory and field operations in Jashore and Chattogram until 2017. In 2018, he joined RRP Agro Farms Ltd. as Head of the Fisheries Department.

In 2019, he completed an international professional course on Aqua Feedmill and Nutrition under the Department of Fisheries, Kasetsart University, Thailand, where he achieved 2nd position in the course. Later, in 2021, he worked in Nepal as an Aqua Nutrition and Aquaculture Expert at Birat Feed Industry Ltd., contributing to the country’s feed and aquaculture sector.

After returning to Bangladesh, he served as Aqua Head at RRP Agro Farms Ltd. from 2022 to April 2025. Currently, he is working as AGM (Sales & Technical, Fish Feed) at the Dhaka Head Office of RB Agro Ltd. (KGS Group).

In his personal life, Nutritionist Saifi Nasir is married and a proud father of two daughters. He has expressed heartfelt gratitude for this international recognition and seeks prayers and cooperation from all well-wishers as he continues contributing to the development of the aquaculture sector both in Bangladesh and abroad.
